With English as our mother tongue, we only translate from German (second language) into English and not vice versa. This guarantees that fine nuances and an authentic voice are maintained. The dynamics of emotions, spirit and cultural sensitivity make up the essence of language and definitely need to be addressed in an evolving language such as English. Through localisation and transcreation, the intent is preserved, but the content and meaning are enhanced with a blend of creative writing.

RATES
We need to know as much as possible about the assignment before we start. That's why it's important that we first meet (in person, Skype, phone) for a non-binding consultation. After assessing your request, all project parameters will be identified.
These may include, for example:
- subject matter and volume of work
- scope of service(s) needed
- quality, complexity, length of text
- scope & amount of research required
- time frame for conceptualisation & implementation of project
- staggered/fixed deadline(s).
The following corporate rates should be used as a guideline only:
1. Research, editing, proofreading, creating content start from € 80 per hour.
2. Translating German into English starts from € 1.80 per line.
3. Larger projects composed of different components, e.g. a translation package for a book for € 5,000.
A customised quotation plus the latest fee policy sheet will then be provided, after which we'll sign a written contract and confidentiality agreement (NDA) if required.
ABOUT ME....
An enthusiastic social and cultural anthropologist (Ph.D. from the University of Vienna) who’s been working in international development for 20 years, my focus lies in the healthcare sector, the social sciences and humanities. However, as a strong believer in business excellence, I’m also an assessor for the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).
Over the years, I gained valuable experience in writing, editing and proofreading within diplomatic circles, international organisations and the academic community. Often the only native English speaker in my workplace, it made me the in-house wordsmith, a responsibility I found most intriguing. These official settings literally facilitated me in building up a parallel professional reputation producing high quality editorial and translation work.
My team and I are native English speakers based in Austria and the UK. We have cosmopolitan backgrounds coupled with international schooling and work experience. We also possess a wealth of intercultural competence and knowledge.
